What’s your background?

I held apprenticeship and Sales Manager positions at Steigenberger Hotels in Frankfurt before studying Hotelmanagement at Hotelschool The Hague. Since October 2020 I am a proud member of the Apaleo superhero team based in Munich.

What drew you to Apaleo?

On the one side the freedom to develop and take full ownership of my personal decisions to disrupt the so diverse hospitality industry. On the other an environment of very ambitious people with a clear vision. Our industry has huge development potential with regard to technology and I want to join the movement in the most ambitious startup.

What the heck is that you do?

Together with my team members I enable people in the hospitality industry to find the right platform and even further support them during the integration of superpowers.

What is your favourite part about Apaleo? What gets you pumped up in the morning?

The reality is that you can achieve incredible things as a team. Positioning a new category in the industry challenges everyone on the team and this is one reason why pulling together enables us to challenge the status quo. I view it as similar to a sports team where everyone aims to perform at their best but the team is only as good as their weakest link. Inevitably our culture of supporting and developing each other is a key going forward.

What upcoming trends in hospitality/hospitality tech are you most excited about?

Authentic personalized segmentation and mass-market space travel. I believe that a different perspective of the world can enable us to rethink our daily behaviour. So I hope that viewing earth in its entirety enables us to understand how little we are while simultaneously our behaviour can influence so much. I hope by getting many people into orbit, this understanding will increase.

If you could magically pick up one new skill overnight, what would it be?

Travel through time. Imagine you could experience the time of radical innovation that ended up shaping the world we live in today. I am thinking about the development of the steam engine, developing the first spaceships or joining the first brainstorming sessions around the apple one. Travelling into the future sounds a bit scary to be honest, but who knows. Would you?

What’s one of your favorite family traditions that you miss from home?

Gardening at the weekend. It’s very rewarding to see tangible change in your environment which you influenced.

What’s something people would be surprised to know about you?

Sometimes I’m funny.

Who is your favourite superhero and why? 

Pippi Langstrumpf, it’s just so unexpected.
