++ Sponsored by Adyen, JetBrains, and Packt – the DEVrupt Hospitality hackathon aims to Disrupt the Hospitality Industry through Developer Engagement ++ Over €5000 in prizes go to the most creative applications

MUNICH – 1 MARCH 2021. Starting today, apaleo and Limehome open up a community for developers participating DEVrupt Hospitality hackathon. The goal is to inspire innovative ideas that will benefit the entire industry and result in new applications that could immediately benefit accommodation providers, including hotels, hotel chains, and serviced apartments.

The online hackathon is open continuously for new participants and can be joined at any time before the deadline on 31 March 2021. Limehome and apaleo are reaching out beyond our connections in the industry to create more development opportunities and encourage more technological growth. Instead of hosting this hackathon as a live in-person event, we have expanded the opportunity beyond geographical and time-zone barriers while also accounting for people’s daily schedules.

Adyen, JetBrains, and Packt contribute additional motivation by sponsoring cash prizes and additional giveaways worth well over €5000 while also helping with the judging process.

“This is a first for our industry and is possible because apaleo is the only platform in the industry that is built entirely from open APIs. These are already always accessible for any developer at any time via our developer account registration form. Thanks to our partnership with Limehome, our development teams have worked together to make this event happen, for developers by developers,” says Stephan Wiesener, apaleo co-founder.

Limehome’s Head of Engineering, Alex Di Mango, adds “This one-of-a-kind hackathon has sparked a lot of interest from our networks and you can already see the excitement in the DEVrupt Hospitality slack community. Also make sure to watch the DEVrupt keynote address with special presentations from the author of node.js Design Patterns, Luciano Mammino; SysAdmin and Developer, Tim Riemenschneider from detco; and risk officer at adyen, Julien Demare.”
